Deterministic structural validation of an Indian UPI Virtual Payment Address (VPA / handle): local-part syntax, handle against a LOCAL list of accredited PSP handles (okhdfcbank, okaxis, paytm, ybl and others), and length rules. It is NOT a live registry lookup: no request leaves this worker, and an unlisted handle is reported as unrecognised rather than nonexistent. This does not establish that the VPA is registered, reachable or owned by anyone.

Honest Scope Guarantee

Format-only: NPCI handle syntax plus a curated list of known PSP handle prefixes. Does NOT prove the VPA is registered, active, or resolveable — a live ₹0.01 test is the only proof of that.

This route is paid-only (0 free calls/day); every unauthenticated request returns an HTTP 402 Payment Required challenge with its payment terms. Machines use USDC on Base; card credits (instant Stripe checkout) are enabled in this deployment. Signed XDR-1 receipts authenticate recorded service claims, not independent settlement, delivery or zero-knowledge proofs.

Response Format

Deterministic JSON payload fields: tool, valid, normalized, username, handle, accredited_psp, country, reason, scope. Paid responses also carry an offline-verifiable receipt object (XDR-1, secp256k1 signature recoverable to the authorized signer).
