Terms of Service
code402 and HCRB are software services, not a financial institution, bank, payment institution, or escrow agent. JUANA LIMITED verifies cryptographic vouchers, checks deterministic identifier syntax and public statutory registries, formats pre-bank XML/CSV files in RAM, and emits signed receipts. JUANA LIMITED never takes custody, possession, control, or intermediate possession of customer fiat currency or digital assets.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the code402 and HCRB websites (https://code402.dev and https://hcrb.in), APIs, batch-cure workbenches,
Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoints, or the Coinbase Onramp portal located at https://code402.dev/fund, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree, do not access our services.
2. Nature & Scope of Services
JUANA LIMITED provides pre-bank software verification and data-formatting utilities:
- Deterministic Validation Micro-services: Mathematical checksum verification (ISO 13616 IBAN MOD-97, ISO 17442 LEI, VAT, SWIFT/BIC, GSTIN) and scoped public-registry lookups. Identifier checks verify format or public registry records at the moment of query; they do not establish bank account ownership, beneficial ownership, or solvency.
- Pre-Bank ISO 20022 & CSV Batch Formatting: Stateless in-RAM transformation of unstructured postal addresses and counterparty identifiers (such as
pain.001structured address enrichment and 3-way record comparisons). All customer batch payloads are processed ephemerally in Worker RAM; you remain responsible for reviewing any formatted file before submitting it to your bank or ERP. - x402 Protocol & Signed XDR-1 Receipts: Machine-to-machine micro-payment verification on Base (Chain ID 8453) and offline-verifiable
XDR-1cryptographic receipts. A receipt signature authenticates the recorded software check output under our published key; it does not attest to underlying commercial delivery or legal compliance. - No Legal, Tax, or Regulated Financial Advice: Outputs are technical software signals only and do not constitute legal advice, tax advice, a professional opinion, or regulated payment initiation.
3. Non-Custodial Architecture, Prepaid Quota Keys & Defect Policy
Coinbase Onramp: When you fund your wallet via /fund, your transaction is executed directly with Coinbase Inc.
or its licensed money transmission subsidiaries. code402 acts solely as a technical referrer; we do not process your card,
do not hold your fiat funds, and do not intermediate the delivery of USDC.
USDC/EURC on Base: All x402 payments are peer-to-peer transfers executed on the Base blockchain (Chain ID 8453) using EIP-3009
TransferWithAuthorization or direct ERC-20 transfers. You remain solely responsible for safeguarding your private keys.
Prepaid Quota Keys (ck_live_...) & Credit Packs: Prepaid API keys and credit packs purchased via Stripe or x402 are non-redeemable,
non-transferable software execution meters for consuming API and batch-verification calls. They do not constitute stored value, deposits, or electronic money.
Deterministic Defect Re-Run or Refund: If a verified software defect in our deterministic validator or batch formatter fails to deliver a paid response after settlement or produces a corrupted output file, submit the XDR-1 receipt hash or Stripe payment reference to hello@code402.dev (or support@code402.dev) within 30 days. JUANA LIMITED will re-run the affected batch at zero charge, restore the consumed API call quota, or refund the affected batch/call charge to the original payment method.
4. Acceptable Use & Sanctions Compliance
You agree not to use code402 for any unlawful activities, including money laundering, terrorist financing, or attempts to circumvent economic sanctions. You represent that neither you nor any beneficial owner is subject to sanctions administered by OFAC, the UK HM Treasury (OFSI), the European Union, or the United Nations. The current edge screen is scope-limited to known in-scope EVM addresses and jurisdictions; a clean result is not a complete sanctions clearance and does not replace customer, beneficial-owner, or corridor-specific screening.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
THE SOFTWARE AND APIS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL JUANA LIMITED, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF FUNDS, BANK REJECTION FEES, PROFITS, OR DATA ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.
SUBJECT TO MANDATORY CARVE-OUTS UNDER ENGLISH LAW (INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, FRADULENT MISREPRESENTATION, OR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE), JUANA LIMITED'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU TO JUANA LIMITED IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) £100.00 GBP.
6. Governing Law, Jurisdiction & Dispute Escalation
These Terms and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to notify JUANA LIMITED in writing at hello@code402.dev with your receipt hash or transaction reference so the parties may attempt to resolve the matter in good faith within 14 business days. Any unresolved disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
