code402.dev Evidence

Every time you validate a bank detail — IBAN, LEI, VAT number, UK company number — the check itself is free to run. What you pay for is proof the check happened: a signed, timestamped XDR-1 receipt you can retain, search, export, and hand to an auditor.

Honest scope (read before you buy): these are structural and checksum validations — a real MOD-97 / ISO-7064 / format algorithm runs offline and rejects malformed or transposed identifiers deterministically. They are not fraud detection and not proof an account exists. The receipt proves the check ran and what it returned, which is exactly the evidence an accounts-payable audit asks for.

Why teams buy the receipt, not the check

A $475K wire sent to the wrong vendor is a Reddit post; a signed receipt that you validated the IBAN before paying is a control. Incumbents charge for the check itself — iban.com is ₮530/yr for 2,000 lookups, and Trustpair/Eftsure are five-figure enterprise contracts. Team Compliance at $79/mo for 50,000 checks with retained proof is â‰Ī 0.80× any incumbent, and Enterprise Audit Shield at $499/mo adds 7-year receipt retention, a monthly signed audit pack, and custom signing subkeys. Neither we nor the incumbents prove that a payment was commercially correct — a receipt proves what was checked, when, and against which list version, and both are honest about that limit.
